 England Head Coach Hope Powell was quick to praise her side's efforts during their 2-0 victory over Denmark but also stressed that there is more improvement to come ."I'm very pleased and satisfied with the win," she said after the game. "Ten out of ten for heart and passion, I'm delighted for the girls as they worked hard. We're a much fitter side than when we last played Denmark (in August 2001) and the fitness element of our game shone through. But there is still a lot to work on, such as keeping the ball, which Denmark did better than us."Kristy's extra strength made the difference, she did well when she came on although I was pleased with Ellen (Maggs) as she is so skilful. We're still building for next year and players are fighting for places, which is a good position to be in. "The crowd were great tonight, they really got behind the players. Not so long ago they were a bit nervous of playing in front of big crowds but now they enjoy the adulation, signing autographs and being stars." Kelly Smith, who was given the Player of the Match award, added: "It was an excellent win, I'm very thrilled. To beat a team higher than us in the rankings was a bonus. The girls' work rate was tremendous. "I felt a bit tired in the last 20 minutes as I'm just lacking that little bit of sharpness, but it will come. They were one of the most physical sides I have played against, apart from the Germans. I like playing in a 4-3-3 formation most as it gives me more freedom. "We've got potential for next year but we're still trying to move up that ladder. We need to keep the ball more and have more composure when in possession. But it's always good to have a crowd like that behind you, it raises everybody's play." For Kristy Moore, it was her first real opportunity to play as a striker after several appearances out wide and she responded with her best international display to date after coming on as a substitute. "It felt good to be playing down the middle, especially with Kelly (Smith). It gave me a chance to put pressure on the back players. It was a bit strange to play against my team mate Katrine Pedersen! "They didn't seem to create much but we did, and that has been our problem in the past. Everyone is on a high and feeling good about the win, and to beat a side like Denmark is good."
