Milton Keynes-based club MK Wanderers, playing in the Southern Region League Division One, have seen a recent surge in interest from new players, and this is has given the team a much needed injection of energy."It's been a busy summer" Wanderers player manager Lyn Wing told Women's Soccer Scene. "Our new players are combining well with our more experienced players. Their youth brings a hunger for goals, whilst our older players provide stability." Lyn was also pleased to announce a new kit sponsorship deal with plastics processing company, Alpla (UK) Ltd. The company's General Manager, Arnold Mitterer, recently posed for photos with the Ladies in the new kit. "In addition to the new sponsorship, we have also changed the venue of our home matches to a combined School and Leisure Centre," adds Lyn. "This means better facilities, and the opportunity to increase our profile which helps bring the club's women's football section closer to the community." Formed in 1992, MK Wanderers FC is a self-funded club with over 250 players, and was the first in Milton Keynes to achieve the FA's Charter Standard Community Club Award. As the Ladies First XI continues to grow, the club is keen to have a second, Reserve Ladies team in place next year.
