 Charlton Athletic striker Sarah Snare has been one of the discoveries of the season so far in the National Division and she is aiming to play a part as her club chase after three domestic trophies.Sarah was a member of the Charlton team which beat Doncaster Rovers Belles 2-0 to earn a place in the Premier League Cup Final against Arsenal in March. "It's great to be there," Sarah told Women's Soccer Scene. "We lost to Arsenal in the Final last year and hopefully we can regain the Cup from them this time. "Our performance against Doncaster could have been better really, we missed a few chances. Vicky Exley was their main threat towards us but in general it was our passing that was not so good, but the important thing is that we got the right result." The 19-year-old broke into the first team squad at the end of last season but has won a place in the team in this campaign and made a big impression with the league leaders. "This is one of the best seasons I have ever had," she enthuses. "I'm glad to be a part of the team and I hope to stay there. The team has been playing really well, our manager Keith Boanas signed a lot of new players during the summer and it's been hard for the girls who were already there to prove to Keith that we were worth a place, but maybe that has helped us. "I have been with the club for nine years now - I originally started playing for a boys team and then joined the Centre of Excellence at Charlton, and it has paid off ever since." Sarah is full of praise for her strike partner Eniola Aluko. "I've played alongside Eni a few times this season and we get on like a house on fire," she says. "She is a quality player and very, very fast, but I do all the donkey work and set her up!" Although she is just too old for the under-19 team, Sarah has not gone unnoticed by England and her good form was rewarded by being called up for an England under-21 training camp recently. "It was tough!" she laughs. "I'm not used to training twice a day and had to do so four times in a week, but you have got to make those sacrifices if you want to play for your country "It helps a lot having six internationals playing with me at Charlton, so I know what level I have to aim for. But I am glad to have broken into the under-21s as that means I have been recognised, as my aim is to play for England. "I think that I have improved through the England training sessions as well as with Charlton, and having quality players around me really does help." Charlton do not have any more matches this year and they are yet to learn their next opponents, either Bristol City or Reading Royals in the F.A.Women's Cup. The Addicks start the defence of the trophy that day but Sarah is in no doubt as to which one their eyes are focused on this time. "Whichever team we have to meet, we'll be ready," she says, "but the league is our main aim this year. We should hopefully be pushing for all three Cups but we have not won the league for a long time, and with our squad being as strong as it is, we can do it. We've got some tough games coming up, as we have to play away to both Arsenal and Everton, but we want to go one better this time."
