Parkside Taxis Ltd of Cramlington have been selected as Whitley Bay Women's football team coach transport provider for next season. Parkside beat off some stiff local competition aided by the fact that owner Ray Wrightson played for Whitley in the late 60's and went on to win an Amateur Cup winners medal with North Shields. Parkside will provide a 25-seater midi coach with reclining seats and TV/DVD facilities for Whitley's away matches to the Yorkshire-based sides in the Premier Division of the North East League. Parkside's Transport Manager and Ray's son Barry Wrightson said: "We are a keen supporter of local football and like to help where we can. We are delighted to be able to provide this service for Whitley Bay Women's team at a heavily discounted rate and wish them the best of luck for next season." Whitley manager Colin Phillips added: "For the longer journeys to places such as Leeds, Huddersfield, York and Barnsley it is important to arrive safe and as relaxed as possible so I am pleased to make these arrangements with Parkside who really understand football and have been able to provide us with exactly what we want." | ||||||||||||||||
