Female Premier League players of the future have the chance to join Charlton Athletic's Academy and Centre of Excellence for the 2008-09 season when the club holds trials in May. The trials will be overseen by Women's Technical Director and former Charlton midfielder Paul Mortimer, who will be assisted by team captain and England Under-23 international Kimberley Dixson who, like current team mates Daniella Farmer, Donna Kelynack and Jenny Moore, is a product of the Charlton Centre of Excellence and Academy. Charlton's Academy for girls aged 16 and over offers an advanced apprentice programme, run in conjunction with the Premier League and in partnership with London Leisure College and there are also a range of academic opportunities at the Academy's other base at Canterbury High School. Courses commence in September 2009. All the trials will take place at the Charlton Athletic Training Ground, Sparrows Lane, New Eltham, London, SE9 2JR. Players should bring appropriate clothing, trainers, boots and a drink. Academy Trials are on Saturday 3rd May 2008 from 10am to 2pm. Centre of Excellence Trials are on Saturday 17th May (Age qualifying date is 1st September).Under-10s and Under-12s from 10am to 11.30am, Under-14s and Under-16s from 12noon to 1.30pm.
