 Arsenal are one win away from their fifth league title in a row following their 2-0 victory over Bristol Academy.The Gunners were made to work hard for the points by an Academy side who were missing several key players through injury but the breakthrough came on the stroke of half time as Karen Carney was brought down in the area by Maz O'Brien and Kelly Smith slotted home the resulting penalty. Rachel Yankey completed the win fifteen minutes from time as she converted a Carney cross from close range. Arsenal will therefore be confirmed as Champions if they beat Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night. Everton's hopes appear to have received a fatal blow after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Birmingham City. Fara Williams gave them a sixth minute lead from the penalty spot but Birmingham were soon back on level terms through Dani Bird. After the break, Natasha Dowie headed Everton back in front and once again the Blues hit back, Becky Hall netting to earn her side their second draw against Everton this season. Leeds Utd have taken the advantage in the battle for third place with a 4-0 victory over Cardiff City. Sue Smith and Jess Clarke netted in quick succession during the first half and a third goal came via a Nicola Cousins own goal on the stroke of half time. Steph Houghton scored midway through the second half to round off Leeds' third victory in a week. Watford returned to action following their lay-off with a handsome 4-1 victory over Liverpool, which lifts them back into the top half. Michelle O'Brien gave them a second minute lead before Helen Lander scored a hat-trick with goals either side of half time. Chantelle Parry replied with a late consolation goal for the Reds.
