Five in a row for Long Lane
 Women's Football News 30 Apr 2008

Long Lane Girls under-15s won the London FA Youth Cup for the fifth year in a row with a 3-1 win over their club rivals Long Lane Youth.

The match, twice postponed for rain and snow, finally took place at Long Lane. Goals from Shauni Griffiths, Ria Collins and Catherine Lee with the sole reply from Jasmine Auguste made for an exciting game, well fought between the two teams as usual.

Three days later, Long Lane Girls wrapped up the Kent Division One title and are also in the Kent Cup Final in May after beating Castle Colts in the semi final on Sunday. Long Lane Youth also have a final to look forward to in May when they play in the Tina Marshall Cup Final.

In winning the cup, Long Lane Girls have became the first team to win it five times in a row, male or female. Of the team who won it back in 2003-2004 at under-11 level, seven girls still remain loyal to the team.
