England and Scotland have both qualified for this summer's UEFA Under-19 Championships in France after winning their respective qualifying groups. England travelled to Belgium for their group and opened up in style with a 7-0 victory over Poland. Chelsea striker Ellen White set the ball rolling with a hat-trick, Sophie Walton weighed in with a double including a late penalty and further goals came from Claire Rafferty and Sophie Bradley. Next up, England faced group hosts Belgium and put themselves on the verge of qualification with a 4-0 win. Remi Allen gave them a flying start with a second minute goal and the other strikes came in the second half from White, Toni Duggan and Jess Clarke. This left England having to avoid defeat in their final game against Iceland to confirm their place in the Finals. Mo Marley's side duly completed a perfect week with their third victory, although it wasn't until the 87th minute that Sophie Walton grabbed the only goal of the game. Scotland meanwhile played their group matches in Switzerland, and they got off to a good start by beating Belarus 3-1 in their opening game, Ruesha Littlejohn leading the way by scoring a hat-trick. The second group game came against group hosts Switzerland, and Richard Wilson's side kept their hopes alive as they twice came from behind to earn themselves a 2-2 draw. Ana Maria Crnogorcevic gave the Swiss a first half lead but it wasn't until nine minutes from time that Scotland levelled through Rachel Corsie. Jehona Mehmeti looked to have given Switzerland victory as she put them back in front from the penalty spot but Scotland again hit back, Littlejohn earning them a point by scoring in the fourth minute of injury time. The draw meant that Scotland had to win their last match against group leaders Denmark in order to qualify and they got off to a bad start as Lise Overgaard Munk gave the Danes a sixth minute lead. However Jane Ross had Scotland back on level terms by the quarter hour and, with five minutes remaining, Christie Murray scored a dramatic winning goal to send them through to the UEFA Finals for only the second time in their history. All of the qualifying groups have now been completed and joining England, Scotland and tournament hosts France in the Finals are holders Germany, Spain, Norway, Italy and Sweden.
