Liverpool Feds v Rochdale
 Women's Football News 20 Dec 2009

F.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Rochdale have taken over the F.A.Women's Cup baton in the north after winning their Second Round tie against Whitley Bay at the second attempt. After the original game had been abandoned at half time, Rochdale won the return game
3-2 with goals from Rachael Wood, Lizzie Paul and Susie Wells.

Rochdale will be away once again this week but with far less distance travel and opponents from the same league. They take on Liverpool Feds, who earned their place in this round with a 3-2 win at Rotherham Utd, goals coming from Gemma Perischine, Natalie White and Amy Seagraves.

Liverpool Feds were established in 1990 and are currenly in their second spell in the Northern Combination. Originally promoted in 2002, they were relegated back into the North West League but returned to the level above by winning the Premier Division title at the end of last season.

This season, they are doing very well in their new league and a good run of form has taken them to fourth place in the table. The Reserves are also having a great season, currently sitting top of Division One South in the North West League and the County team are third in the Liverpool County League in their first season. The club also has seven girls teams ranging from Under-8 to Under-16 and all teams from Under-10 upwards play in the Liverpool County Girls League. There is now a boys section consisting of nine teams from Under-8 to Under-15 and the club gained Charter Standard status in 2008.

Bill Stewart is First Team Manager, assisted by Lindsay Schofield with Rob Oakley and Sue Carmichael as coaches. The squad includes a number of players with Premier League experience including Gayle Formston, who once captained Liverpool to the F.A.Women's Cup semi finals, as well as the likes of Gill Hart, Amy Seagraves and Rachael Mutch.

This game takes place at Heswall FC and is set to be a close clash between two form teams yet to meet in the league. Rochdale may start as slight favourites but Liverpool Feds have plenty of Cup experience and will be tough opponents. The winners will be home to either Middlesbrough or Curzon Ashton in the Fourth Round.
