Regional Leagues round-up
 Women's Football News 8 Jan 2010

East Midlands League
Just the one match managed to beat the big freeze on Sunday and it took place in Division One South.

Huncote S & SC lifted themselves into second place, seven points behind leaders Hinckley Utd and with two games in hand, by winning 5-3 away to Kingsthorpe.

Eastern Region League
Bedford Ladies ran riot against struggling Taverham to move themselves up to mid-table position in the solitary Premier Division match to be played. Lauren Prior, Natasha Fensome and Victoria Mawdsley all led the scoring by netting a hat-trick apiece, whilst Rebecca Fhalora, Vicky Vickery and Sophie Smith each weighed in with doubles. The tally was completed by Zara Carroll, Christie Turner, Sarah Saunders and an own goal.

In Division One South, Hannakins defeated Leighton Linslade 11-0 to close the gap on table toppers Arlesey Town to four points. Grace Clark had a great day by bagging herself a five-goal haul and there were braces from Kierra Gabriel, Michaela Standing and Georgia Standing. In the other game to go ahead, Whitwell picked up a useful point in a 1-1 draw with Hoddesdon Owls. Rebecca Day netted their goal, with Hoddesdon replying through Daniela Martucci.

South West League
The one game which managed to beat the bad weather produced a significant result as it caused a change of leadership in the Premier Division.

Frome Town have taken over as the new leaders, thanks to a 4-1 victory away to Chippenham Town. Ali Hudd was on target twice, with the other goals coming from Mel Sartain and Kirsty Whitton.

Southern Region League
Maidenhead Utd closed the gap on Premier Division leaders Southampton Saints to five points as they won 3-2 away to Shanklin. Honours were shared in the other game played as Wycombe Wanderers and Henley Town battled out a 1-1 draw.

West Midlands League
Two of the Premier Division title hopefuls met each other in the league's only match on Sunday and it was Worcester City who emerged as narrow 3-2 winners away to Stratford Town. The result takes Worcester to within a single point of league leaders Solihull Ladies, with Stratford a further three points adrift.
