Happy Wanderers win tournament
 Women's Football News 12 Jan 2010

Pride Park Juniors' Indoor six-a-side Tournament, held at the Powerleague Soccerdome in Derby on 3rd January, was another success for all of those involved in its planning and organisation with over 60 teams and 500 boys and girls from across the country taking part this year.

A very competitive Under-14 Girls section was won by Wallasey Wanderers from Liverpool, who beat Handsworth Juniors from Sheffield in the Final, 2-1 after extra time. The standard of football was very high with over half the teams taking part currently leaders of their respective leagues.

The inclusion of several teams from outside of the county shows the growing stature of this annual event, with a number already committed to returning next year. The organisers are hoping to extend the scope of the competition to more age groups, particularly for the girls, in next year's tournament.
