Reds go marching on!
 Women's Football News 26 Jan 2010

Liverpool secured themselves a home tie with Chelsea by beating Preston North End 4-1 in their much delayed F.A.Women's Cup Third Round tie.

All of the goals came in the second half, Katie Williams and Cheryl Foster amongst the goals for the Reds while Victoria Charnley bagged a consolation for Preston.

Liverpool Feds meanwhile reached the Fourth Round for the first time in their history as a solitary Gemma Perschine goal earned them a fine 1-0 victory over Northern Combination table toppers Rochdale. The Feds now face Premier League opposition in the form of Curzon Ashton, for the right to play Aston Villa in the last sixteen.

Norwich City are also enjoying a record run in the competition and they kept it going with a 5-3 success away to Milton Keynes Dons.

Heather McDonnell gave the Dons an early lead but Norwich hit back strongly, Jodie Drake and Kate Parsons scoring twice in quick succession. Paige Shorten then added a third to put the Canaries in control by half time. After the break, Aileen Whelan renewed hopes for the Dons by pulling a goal back but once again, Norwich responded well with Nicola Bray restoring the two-goal advantage before Drake netted her second and her side's fifth. Lauren Goodier scored a late consolation for the Dons but it is Norwich who progress and they have a home tie against South West Combination leaders Yeovil |Town, the winners being at home to Nottingham Forest in the Fifth Round.
