Genero Adran Leagues

Cardiff City produced another stunning late comeback to rescue a 3-3 draw at home to The New Saints in a breathless Genero Adran Premier encounter on Sunday.

TNS looked on course for victory after racing into a 3-1 lead, but the Bluebirds’ never-say-die spirit shone through once more. Lexie Harrison opened the scoring midway through the first half, tapping home Zara Gibbs’ low cross, only for Fiona Barry to equalise just before the break with a long range effort that squirmed under goalkeeper McKenzie Haydn-Jones.

The Saints regained the lead in first half stoppage time through Caitlin Chapman’s header from Maria Francis-Jones’ free kick, and Gibbs added a superb third early in the second period, curling into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Yet Cardiff have made a habit of late heroics against TNS, and they delivered again. Lily Billingham pulled one back in the 85th minute, slotting calmly past the keeper after racing onto Laura Curnock’s through ball. Deep into fourteen minutes of stoppage time, Curnock bundled home the equaliser after TNS keeper Charlie Scott failed to deal with Ffion Price’s delivery.

The dropped points allowed Wrexham to leapfrog Cardiff and claim the leadership with a thrilling 4-2 win over Swansea City at The Rock. Chloe Chivers had put the Swans ahead, rounding Liz Craven to score into an empty net, but Katie Barker levelled from the penalty spot before half time. Aimee Deacon restored Swansea’s advantage shortly after the restart, only for Barker to convert another spot kick on the hour. Lili Jones headed Wrexham in front late on, and substitute Rosie Hughes sealed the points in stoppage time with a sharp finish.

Elsewhere, Briton Ferry Llansawel cruised to a 3-0 victory over Barry Town United, moving within a point of the top four. Brooke Llewellyn tapped home from a corner for her first goal since March 2023, Lucy Powell doubled the lead after Amelia Herbert’s red card left Barry with ten players, and Jade Crofts rounded off the scoring in stoppage time.

Aberystwyth Town ended a three-match losing run by coming from behind to beat bottom side Pontypridd United 2-1 at Park Avenue. Madison Lloyd put Ponty ahead early in the second half, but Libby Isaac levelled from the penalty spot and Rebecca Mathias grabbed a first goal in almost a year to seal the points and lift the Seasiders to within four points of the top half.

Genero Adran North

Llanfair United recorded their largest ever league victory with a crushing 8-0 triumph over Bangor at Mount Field in the only match played in the division. Harriet Davies scored twice inside the opening ten minutes – one from the spot – while Tania Wylde and Sophie Cook made it four by half time. Second half goals from Mary Bailey, Millie Evans, Emma Williams and a late second for Wylde lifted Llanfair to third, three points behind leaders Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Genero Adran South

Cardiff Met Women maintained their position at the summit of the Genero Adran South with a 2-0 home win over Carmarthen Town. Esme Kilburn-Thompson broke the deadlock five minutes before half time with her first league goal of the season, and Summer Kilby added a second – also her maiden league strike for the Archers – in the 72nd minute. Pure Swansea stay level on points with the leaders after a 2-0 success at Taffs Well. In-form Annabel Stokes continued her scoring streak inside 15 minutes and then teed up Katie Cooper for her first goal for the club early in the second half. Penybont secured their first league victory since the opening weekend, edging Llanelli Town 1-0 on Sunday evening. Captain Maddie Priday converted a 70th minute penalty to move her side level on points with fourth placed Cwmbran Celtic.
