Four sign new Glasgow City deals

Glasgow City are delighted to announce the extension of four key player contracts through to the summer of 2023.

Centre-back Jenna Clark, fullback/winger Megan Foley, midfielder Mairead Fulton and forward Ode Fulutudilu have all committed their professional football careers with the 14-in-a-row champions.

Megan Foley, who joined the club in December 2016 from Rangers, has started over 75 games in all competitions and scored 14 goals. The 28-year-old pacey versatile player, who can play anywhere down the right, as well as occasionally at centre-back has been a key figure in the club’s SWPL 1 title wins, with four winners’ medals and also a 2019 Scottish Cup winning medal.

This season, Foley got an important assist for Niamh Farrelly’s goal in the 1-1 draw against Rangers in October.

Megan said on her new deal: “I am delighted to sign another contract with Glasgow City and I am looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Mairead Fulton joined in the winter of 2019 and won her first SWPL trophy in June after scoring five goals during the season, including strikes against Hibernian and Hearts.

Fulton also scored in the penalty shootout victory against Peamount United in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Qualifying Rounds. She has made 18 appearances this season in all three competitions City have featured in so far.

“I am delighted to sign a new contract with Glasgow City and continue to try and bring success to the club. I look forward to the rest of the season,” she enthused.

South African international, Ode Fulutudilu, has scored seven goals this season and helped the club secure the SWPL1 title in the second half of the 2020-21 season with two successive hat-tricks against Forfar Farmington in her debut and against Motherwell.

Ode commented: “I am honoured and pleased to be continuing my football career with Glasgow City. There is a lot I can give to the club on and off the field. I hope that this second phase with the club will allow me to do that with Eileen (Gleeson) at the wheel.”

Having signed for the club in the summer of 2018 from Rangers, Jenna Clark went on to score in one of her first appearances in the Champions League group stages against Martve. She has gone on to win three league titles and the 2019 Scottish Cup.

The defender made her Scotland debut this year and scored against Faroe Islands at Hampden Park while she made her 50th start for Glasgow City in September, having joined the club in the summer of 2018 from Rangers.

"I’m really happy to extend my contract,” said Jenna. “I’ve been here for a few years now and the future of the club continues to excite me!"
