The Football Foundation
Historically girls have not been given the chance to play football at school but thousands more would if given the opportunity.
The parks and football fields of England are full of children trying to emulate the likes of Beckham and Rooney but soon it may be the name of England Women's captain, Faye White that is written on the backs of their replica shirts.
The women's game is booming and with the success of the current team there is every chance that more young women will get
involved in the game, whether it's to play competitively or just to have a kick about to keep fit.
The Football Foundation, the UK's largest sports charity, is playing a key role in revitalising grass roots sport, investing in our parks, schools and playing fields and harnessing the power of the game within our communities, to promote education and social inclusion. The Football Foundation mission is to improve facilities, create opportunities and build communities.
Since its launch in 2000 the Football Foundation has supported 2,870 projects worth £446 million, funded 112 artificial turf pitches, 295 changing facilities and given over 100,000 children new football strips. The Football Foundation is unique in bringing together Government and football to benefit communities.
