Fulham's two-year grip on the F.A.Women's Cup is over and their 78-match unbeaten run in domestic football has come to an end after they were beaten 2-1 by Charlton Athletic in the Fifth Round. The Addicks struck twice in the last fifteen minutes through Carmaine Walker and skipper Casey Stoney, Rachel Yankey pulled a goal back but it was too late for Fulham.
Cardiff City led the shocks with a stunning 2-1 victory over Everton. The Toffees' England midfielder Kelly McDougall missed a penalty during the course of the game and it was goals from Jessica Fishlock and Chantelle Miller which booked the South West Combination side a place in the last eight.
Another Combination side to make the quarter finals are Nottingham Forest. The Midland Combination leaders went all the way to penalties before beating Premier League Chelsea from the spot, after the sides had battled out a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes.
The remaining ties all went with form although Tranmere Rovers were pushed hard before winning 1-0 against Sheffield Wednesday. Doncaster Rovers Belles netted four without reply against Wolverhampton Wanderers, new Arsenal signing Julie Fleeting netted twice in their 6-1 win at Middlesbrough and Birmingham City defeated Leyton Orient by a similar scoreline. The biggest victory went to Bristol Rovers who ran out 9-1 winners at Reading Royals, including a hat-trick from Trudy Williams.
