Former England under-19 hotshot Katy Ward's season is over after the forward suffered a broken ankle just 15 minutes into Birmingham City's 1-0 F.A.Women's Cup semi final defeat to Charlton on Sunday.Katy was stretchered off in agony in front of a bumper 1,234 crowd at Solihull Borough as Blues sank to a goal from Charlton's England ace Carmaine Walker. Blues Chairman and physio Steve Shipway today confirmed Ward had suffered a break and will be out for the rest of the season, thus missing Sunday's Birmingham County Cup final which sees Blues attempt to extend their record three year run in the competition at the expense of Wolves. "Katy will hopefully be OK to resume full training in mid-June which means she should be alright for pre-season work," said Shipway. | |||||||||||||||||
