Birmingham City have confirmed their third major signing of the summer, the capture of England striker Ellen Maggs from Arsenal.
Manager Marcus Bignot has pulled off yet another coup by securing the signature of the exciting 21-year-old with the help of Blues fans Robert Butler, Tony Harris and Michelle Heaton, Directors of New Energi Windows Ltd based in Acocks Green who have put up the sponsorship money.
Included in the deal are her Arsenal team mates Jo Potter and Alex Scott, to further boost the Birmingham squad. 'Maggsy's scintillating skills were a major contribution to Arsenal's successful 'double' winning campaign last season.
Manager Bignot comments: "We are absolutely delighted that New Energi Windows have joined us as sponsors and have been instrumental in the signing of Ellen Maggs. The fact that they are all Blues fans makes it even better and I would like to thank them on behalf of everyone at the club. If other Blues fans would like to get involved in sponsorship then we would love to hear from them."
Tony Harris added: "We are all Blues supporters and have always had an interest in the ladies game, personally I have been inspired to get involved by my 10 year old daughter Beth who plays football.
"We are delighted to be able to help and look forward to a very successful association and a great season with Birmingham City Ladies."
New Energi Windows Limited will now benefit from a host of sponsorship and PR opportunities as part of their deal with BCFC Ladies.
