Holly Miles is looking forward to better times at Bristol City after suffering a nightmare start to the season with the Southern Division side. The midfielder, who joined City during the summer from Team Bath, sustained a broken leg in only her second appearance when playing at Crystal Palace and spent a frustrating five months on the sidelines before finally returning to the first team squad last month. "It's just good to be back in the squad now and get some time on the pitch, especially in the first team," Holly told Women's Soccer Scene. "It's been boring on the way whilst getting fit again but it's great to be back playing." Despite having been forced to watch her new team mates cope with life after relegation last season, Holly was always determined to return as soon as possible. "It's been hard," she admits. "It has been a long time but I always had the goal of getting back in January and I did this when we played against West Ham, so I am pleased with that. "I managed one and a half games before getting injured, but those were good games and I am still involved with the squad, so things look okay now." Now, the former Queen's Park Rangers player is setting her sights on re-establishing herself in the team and helping City towards a good finish to the season. "I'm trying to push for a place all the time," she smiles. "The girls who have come in and played in the centre of midfield have done really well, having come from different positions in the team, but it is up to me now to prove my place. I need a couple more 90 minute matches under my belt and hopefully I'll be there." | |||||||||||||||||||||
