Over 700 female footballers from the age of 7 upwards will descend on the Brentwood Centre next Sunday (24 June) for Brentwood Town Ladies' 10th summer tournament. The tournament - with mini-soccer for under-10s and under-11s and five-a-side for all other age groups - is one of the largest exclusively female tournaments in south east England. Many top name clubs will be represented including West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace. There are over 30 teams in the women's tournament which is expected to be hard fought and there are some tough competitions lined up in the girls age groups. "We have always believed that there was a place for an exclusively female tournament in this part of the country," said Club President David Worsfold, "and the huge support once again this year proves that is the case. Our tournament is always highly praised for its atmosphere as well as for the quality of the football played, which is a great combination to have." All of the age groups kick off at 10am and the Finals are due to take place between 2.30pm and 4.15pm.
