Lincoln City Ladies FC's plans for a new ground, stadium and soccer dome are beginning to gain momentum.
Although in their very early stages, plans have been proposed and negotiations have begun for the building and investment for the first ever ground and stadium - which will include grass and Third Generation Astro Turf football pitches, plus a soccer dome - to be run by a Women's Football Club.
''This is a very ambitious venture,'' admitted club Chairman Geoff Adams, ''but after extensive research it all looks entirely workable, especially in Lincoln where we are frankly one of the worst serviced areas in the country for sporting facilities. It will be expensive, but I believe it will be financially entirely self-sufficient and will provide Lincoln and the surrounding area with much needed football facilities.
"Additionally our club is now in the position that it has funding for, and can offer, two of our players jobs within coaching and the commercial side of the club this season, which will be a huge step up and a first for the Lady Imps.
"If this project of our own ground gets the go-ahead, I believe this will give our club the income stream to give every player who wants to, and is good enough, the chance to play their football on a fully professional basis, as well as the club being able to provide other careers in football such as coaching etc in the local area. Once all our plans are in place for this project, the Club will make an announcement.''
