![]() The players were joined by McDonalds' Ambassador and England World Cup hero Sir Geoff Hurst. Over 300 girls from ages 7 to 13 participated in the 'World Cup' themed celebration organised and run by Louisa Suff and the Herts FA. Each team was assigned a country from the forthcoming Women's World Cup and entered into the spirit of the day by dressing in their adopted nation's colours, face-paints and flags. Goalscoring star Helen Lander commented: "It's fantastic to see so many girls enjoying the game and the festival arrangement means that there is no pressure on the teams to win. The most important thing for young players of this age is to have fun and experiment in their play and this format encourages these aspects."
