Preston secure training deal
 Women's Football News 8 Jul 2007

Preston North End are delighted to have secured the use of the excellent facilities at Broughton Business and Enterprise College, on the outskirts of Preston, for their pre-season training regime.

After several frustrating weeks trying to secure adequate facilities, Head Teacher Bob Davies saved the day by volunteering use of the school sports pitches to the club.

Preston manager Simon Gerrard wholeheartedly thanked Mr Davies and the school for the use of the school's facilities, saying: "Finding facilities within the Preston area with the appropriate standards to meet not only our training needs, but also our financial budget has proved nearly impossible and the use of the school's facilities will be invaluable in assisting us to attain our aims and ambitions this coming season."

Preston's management committee have also stated their delight with the pre-season training facilities: "Preston North End WFC is now becoming an attractive club for not only young players but also for established players looking for new challenges at a progressive, ambitious and friendly club, having all the facilities available for this to take place is vital."

Head Teacher Bob Davies also expressed his pleasure at the arrangement, adding: "We are delighted to be able to offer our support to PNE WFC by offering them the use of our football pitches for their pre-season training and hope that this may be the start of a longer term relationship between the school and the club.

"The school has a long tradition of success in all sports generally and we do everything we can to encourage youngsters to take up sport of any kind. Football is becoming increasingly popular with girls of all ages within school and it will be a great boost for them to see our school linked with a successful team like Preston.

"We wish the team every success this season and will follow their results with great interest."
