![]() International clearance for Aoife now has to be obtained, as she had also registered with a team in her native Republic of Ireland last season but with no potential stumbling blocks expected, she should be available for selection for Argyle's first league game on 19th August. Plymouth manager Ryan Thomas commented on his delight at his first signing since taking charge of the club back in January, saying: "We are widely regarded as being a good, but young side, and at times a lack of experience in certain situations hindered us last season. Aoife is a very composed midfield player who has experience of both getting out of a Combination League, and in playing in the Premier League. We need players with these types of backgrounds to help us reach another level." All of the Pilgrims squad have stayed on at the club following their second place finish in the South West Combination last season, and many of the young reserve team players are looking to establish themselves as regular first team players. However Thomas added that he was still looking to strengthen both the first and reserve team squads. "We are still in advanced negotiations with a few players who will give us extra options in areas where I felt we were lacking last season," he said. " Having a blend of youth and experience will be vital as we look to win as many games as possible. We will hopefully have some positive news next week."
