Everton booked their place in the Second Qualifying Phase of the UEFA Women's Cup by running out 5-0 winners over Swiss side FFC Zuchwil. Fara Williams and Jody Handley each scored twice, with Fern Whelan adding the other to ensure that Everton finished on top of the group. Now the Toffees face a mouthwatering challenge against former winners FFC Frankfurt in their next group, as they bid to reach the quarter finals at the first attempt. However there was heartbreak for Hibernian as they went out by a narrow margin. The Scottish Champions crushed Mayo 8-0, spearheaded by a four-goal haul from hot prospect Kim Little. Natalie Ross (2), Laura Kennedy and Michelle Kerr were also on target but SV Neulengbach's victory means that the Austrian side top the group, whilst Hibs just miss out on being the runners-up with the best record. It was another close call but another narrow defeat for Cardiff City, who were beaten 2-1 by group hosts Osijek despite a goal from Charlotte Miller.
