Team Northumbria v Whitley Bay - 30 Sep 2007 - Women's Football NewsF.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Team Northumbria continued their Cup run with a 4-0 victory over Gateshead Cleveland Hall, which was spearheaded by two goals from Kirsty Gallacher.

They will at home again in the Second Round Qualifying and will play another Northern Division side in the North East League, but face a much tougher task this time around against Whitley Bay.

Last season, Whitley Bay were the longest surviving Regional League club in the F.A.Women's Cup, reaching the Fourth Round before going out to Tranmere Rovers after extra time. They reached this stage by beating Pelton Newfield 4-1 in the last round.

Manager Colin Phillips has assembled a strong squad which is going to go one better in the league than last season, when they finished as runners-up. Kirsty Hunter and Laura Darmody are a prolific strike duo whilst other key players include the likes of Helen Graham and Rachel Kay.

Although Team Northumbria play in the division above, Whitley Bay's fine Cup record means that they are likely to start as favourites for the game.
