Seven up for leaders Forest - 15 Oct 2007 - Women's Football NewsNottingham Forest opened up a four point lead at the top of the Northern Division with a 7-0 victory away to Crewe Alexandra.
 
Natalie Clarke netted twice midway through the first half and Beth Bailey increased Forest's lead on the half hour. Nat Staneff, Annabel McKechnie, Kirsty Robson and Danni Duffy were all on target after the break to complete the victory for the league leaders.
 
Aston Villa got back to winning ways in style, with a 5-2 success at Sheffield Wednesday. Cherelle Archibald struck twice in the opening fifteen minutes for Villa, Beth Gingell pulled one back for Wednesday before Julia Marshall restored the two goal advantage. Leanne De Silva gave the home side renewed hope but two goals from Kristen Peters wrapped up the points for Villa who move back into fifth place.
 
The points were shared in the match between Newcastle Utd and Stockport County as the sides battled out a 2-2 draw. Stockport took the lead in the first half when Caroline Price broke through the Newcastle defence and hit a low powerful shot into the far corner of the goal. Newcastle equalised in the second period when Sarah Bennett met a cross at the back post and sidefooted it into the County goal. but halfway through the half County took the lead again as Price hit a shot from the edge of the area into the top corner of the goal for her second of the game. However with the last kick of the game, Newcastle salvaged a point when Carey Gustafson latched onto a corner that County had failed to clear to hit a deflected shot into the net.
 
Manchester City lifted themselves two places up the table, courtesy of a 3-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers. After a goalless first half, Charlotte Farrell opened the scoring for City within five minutes of the restart. It wasn't until the last five minutes that City were able to make the game safe through further goals from Laura Gligan and Rachael Davies.
