Wales were on the receiving end of another narrow defeat as they were beaten 2-0 by Switzerland in their UEFA Women's Championship qualifying group match in Oberdorf. Adrian Tucker's side were missing key players through suspension with Sally Wade, Rhian Nokes, Kala Morgan and Katie Daley being drafted into the starting line-up and Emma Jones taking over the captaincy, but they held out until just before half time, when Lara Dickermann gave them the lead. Hopes of a Welsh fightback were ended fourteen minutes from time as Dickermann scored her second goal from the penalty spot. Cardiff City's Natasha Harding was given her senior debut as a late substitute. Wales conclude their group fixtures on 29 May with a plum match away to World Champions Germany, in Kassel.
