Liverpool beat Ireland - 12 May 2008 - Women's Football NewsLiverpool were 6-0 winners over Northern Ireland in the Roy Castle Foundation Cup, a charity match at Anfield to raise funds for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and Women Against Lung Cancer charities.

Home captain Gill Hart soon put her side ahead and Chantelle Parry quickly added a second. Jo Edwards, Jo Traynor, Cheryl Foster and substitute Caroline Charlton completed the home side's half dozen in what was a one sided affair, though the visitors did go close on a few occasions.

Northern Ireland, who play Spain in a Euro 2009 qualifier later this month, were without a few first choice players and both sides made full use of their substitutes to give the players the chance to enjoy the opportunity to play at one of England's finest stadia.
