England name under-17 squad
 Women's Football News 15 May 2008

England will be setting their sights on European glory next week when the Under-17s travel to Switzerland for the final stages of the UEFA Under-17 Championships.

Forty UEFA member associations set out on the road to the inaugural final tournament, with two qualifying rounds played to decide the four final round teams; Denmark, England, France and Germany.

Those four teams have also qualified for the first FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand between 28 October and 16 November this year.

A major promotional drive is underway in order to attract a maximum number of spectators to the Colovray Stadium in Nyon, where Lois Fidler's side will take on France in their semi final on 20 May. Training grounds have been found in the nearby town of Morges, with promotional work involving the sending of more than 400 letters to football clubs, schools and tourist offices in the region, as well as in neighbouring areas in France.

Posters and tournament programmes are also being prepared in abundance and entry to matches will be free of charge, with 5,000 tickets available for each encounter.
