Curzon manager steps down
 Women's Football News 30 May 2008

Long serving Curzon Ashton manager Dave Ryan is stepping down after 20 years service and has marked his retirement by taking his team to the Northern Combination title.

Having originally formed the club as Oldham Athletic LFC in 1988, Dave has guided the club through the lower leagues to its present position of qualifying for the Premier League by winning their first 18 matches of the season.

Dave comments: "I have many memories and the decision to retire is the right one for the club and myself as I am sure that a new face and voice in the dressing room will be a good thing.

"I would like to thank the many players who have stayed loyal to the club and to me through tough times over the years and hope they can now go on to make the final step to the National Division."

Chairman Kirk Robertson added: "Dave has been an unbelievable servant for the club and ladies football in general. It has been a privilege to work alongside one of the game's great characters.

"Dave will take a well earned back seat and plans to help the new manager by fulfilling the club secretary role. This will help the new manager settle in so that they can concentrate on the team, training and players."
