Spanish sportswear brand Joma has agreed a deal to become the official team apparel and footwear supplier to WFC Fulham. The partnership is good timing, according to Joma Business Development Manager Jon Haile: "This is an exciting new partnership for Joma. It is well documented that the women's game is struggling to receive financial support, yet ironically, is currently the fastest growing sport in the world. Comments from senior figures within the FA seem to suggest that significant efforts are being made to promote awareness of the Premier League, possibly through a televised summer campaign. "Since Fulham FC ended their association and financial support to the ladies team in 2006, the club has survived mainly due to the good work of a few hard working supporters, parents and committee members. Joma are wholly committed to the development of the women's game and are delighted to be able to support WFC Fulham on their return to the top division." Fred Brockwell, of WFC Fulham, is very pleased with the appointment, adding: "Our new partnership with Joma will ensure that we are able to compete in the Premier League National Division next season after being the first club in history to get promoted back to it at the first attempt following relegation the previous season. The club also shared the Club of the Season runners-up award with Arsenal at the Football Association's awards back in May and won the Manager of the Season Award. "The decision to work with Joma in preference to some other brands was an easy one to make as they are genuinely committed to the women's game in the UK and we appreciate their interest and support tremendously." Joma is the official kit supplier to Spanish La Liga and double UEFA Cup Champions Sevilla FC as well as other La Liga and UEFA Cup contenders Getafe and Racing Santander. In the UK, Joma also provides official team apparel to Coca Cola Championship clubs Charlton Athletic and 2008 FA Cup finalists Cardiff City as well as ladies teams Bristol Academy, Cardiff City and Charlton Athletic.
