Former Charlton Athletic boss Keith Boanas has returned to women's football as the new manager of Millwall Lionesses. Keith replaces last season's player manager Pru Buckley who has stepped down after three seasons in charge, despite just failing to gain promotion after finishing runners-up to WFC Fulham in the Southern Division last season. Pru is to continue to play football for the Lionesses. The appointment of Keith Boanas is a big plus for Millwall as they push for promotion back to the top flight of women's football. His position as one of the top managers in the women's game is backed up by his record at Charlton where he spent six successful years until his departure just before the start of last season. His record includes one F.A.Cup win and twice runners-up in the National Division, as well as two Premier League Cup wins. Another appointment at Millwall sees England under-15 manager Kay Cossington take over as head coach from Jim Hicks who, due to work commitments with the PFA, is unable to commit enough time to the Lionesses.
