It is great news for Corby S & L that the top goalscorer in last season's Eastern Region League Division One North, Steph Donald, has signed for the club for the 2008-09 season. Last year, Steph played for local rivals, Kettering Town and scored in excess of 45 goals in all competitions. Corby manager Mark Norton said: "This is a fantastic addition for us. I was Steph's manager at Kettering Utd during the 2005-06 season when she scored 94 goals in their Championship team, so I know only too well what she is capable of and what she can bring to Stewarts & Lloyds. She is a natural goalscorer and has a phenominal work rate. "With Steph playing alongside our own Gee Sturgess for the coming season, we have the two top local Regional League goalscorers who between them scored almost 100 goals last year. I am sure they will create an awesome partnership and am I delighted to welcome Steph to Corby S & L." The club is still keen to attract one or two more proven defenders in order to strengthen the squad for their East Midlands League Premier Division campaign next season.
