![]() Cheryl has previously represented Reading Royals, Bristol Academy and more recently Reading FC Women. Bees manager Tracey Kevins is delighted to have signed Williams, saying: "Cheryl will be a great signing for us and will give us another attacking option. I know that she had offers from other FA Tesco Women's Premier League clubs and it is very pleasing that she chose to join Barnet." Williams made her debut in Bees colours on Thursday evening when Barnet began their programme of friendlies with a 5-1 away win against newly promoted FA Tesco Women's Premier League side Leicester City WFC. The goals were all scored by new signings with 16-year-old Riana Soobadoo grabbing a hat trick. Soobadoo put Barnet ahead half way through the first half. The home side equalised before the Bees regained the lead just before half time through Aileen Whelan, who is dual signed for the Bees with South East Combination club Rushden & Diamonds. Soobadoo scored her second goal after the interval before Williams made 4-1 with 25 minutes remaining. Soobadoo completed her hat-trick with an lob with 10 minutes left to play. Tracey Kevins was encouraged by her team's first outing of the season. "I was pleased with quality of our play and particularly our finishing," she said. "Leicester are a good footballing side and it was pleasing to record a win in our opening match. However, our next two friendlies are against National Division opposition and so these will be a sterner test of our fitness and our progress generally."
