Blackburn Rovers boss Adam Lakeland has pulled off a sensational transfer swoop with the capture of goalkeeping starlet Danielle Hill.
The England Under-23 international - rated as one of the hottest young prospects in the country - joins from Premier League rivals Everton.
After making her Everton debut at just 15 years of age, she quickly established herself as one of the brightest talents in the women's game. Following an injury to first choice keeper Rachel Brown last term, Danielle stepped in with a string of impressive performances, culminating with a clean sheet in Everton's League Cup final victory over holders Arsenal and a call-up to Hope Powell's senior England squad.
Lakeland said: "This is a massive coup for us ahead of the new season and I am absolutely delighted that she's here. It's a position we've been looking to fill for the past 18 months and she'll benefit us massively this year.
"We've chased her signature for most of the summer and there almost comes a point when you have to admit defeat.
"I could completely understand her wanting to stay, because she's an Everton fan, has been with the club for a long time and every footballer wants to play for one of the top teams, which Everton are.
"But there comes a point when a player has to start thinking about number one. She needs to be playing regular first team football, because she is too good not to, and we could give her that opportunity.
"I would like to thank Everton for the role they have played in the proceedings and I wish them all the best for the coming season."
