Rochdale's fine start to the season gathered further pace as they beat Peterlee Town 8-1 to open up a lead of three points.
Lizzie Paul and Sarah Buffel each netted doubles, with one apiece from Steph Bell, Lisa Wood, Rachel Wood and Katie Wood.
Leeds City Vixens meanwhile scored nine without reply against Scunthorpe Utd to lift themselves into second place. Stacey Daniel led the scoring with a four-goal haul, Sarah Dobby weighed in with a double and the tally was completed by Rachel Townsend, Megan Paul and Michelle Walsh.
Bradford City won for the second week in a row and inflicted a first defeat of the season on Salford Sports. After falling a goal behind early on, Sarah Binns levelled for Bradford and a second half brace from Emmie Kinnear sealed the points.
Stockport County claimed their first victory of the new campaign and replaced Morley Spurs in fifth place by beating them by the odd goal in five, thanks to goals from Emily Shenton, Angela Ashioti and Sarah Stones.
Newly promoted Blackpool Wren Rovers also won for the first time, 8-0 over West Auckland Town. Carly Langham bagged a hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Fiona Dransfield (2), Jodie Palmer (2) and Caroline Wilcock.
