Glasgow City are all but certain of being eliminated from the UEFA Women's Cup after they were beaten 1-0 by Zvezda 2005 in their second group match in Oslo. After their 6-1 defeat in their opening game against hosts Roa IL, Glasgow were boosted by the return of Suzanne Lappin and Megan Sneddon to their starting line up and they had the better of the first half with Lappin and Leanne Ross going close to scoring. After the break, Katharina Lindner was denied by an outstanding save which once again prevented City from going in front. It looked as though City were on their way to an important point to keep their hopes alive but with just two minutes remaining, a free kick was touched onto the bar by Angie Livingstone and Hanna Kostraba, the 41-year-old whose goal sunk Frankfurt in the previous match, was on hand to slot home the rebound for the only goal of the game and put the Russian side on the verge of qualification for the quarter finals.
