Aston Villa v Leeds Carnegie - 25 Jan 2009 - Women's Football NewsF.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Leeds Carnegie ended the Cup run of Forest Green Rovers with a 7-0 victory in the Fourth Round, despite a battling display from the Gloucestershire side.

Steph Houghton and Sue Smith each scored two of Leeds' goals and they were joined on the scoresheet by Jade Moore, Mel Sutcliffe and Lucy Ward.

Leeds will be on their travels in the Fifth Round, to Aston Villa who came through a tough tie away to Crystal Palace with a 2-1 victory. Kelly Clarke scored an extra time winner for Villa to add to Carly Davies' earlier strike which set up their tie against last season's beaten finalists.

Aston Villa have been going through a transition after strengthening links with the men's club and the early signs are good as they sit in fifth place in the Northern Division. The club has twice been promoted to the top flight and are hopeful of reaching those heights again in the future. Villa are managed by Rob Williams, aided by football development officer Joe Hunt.

Natalie Gibson and Carly Davies are likely to provide the main goal threat from Villa while other key squad members include the likes of Kelly Clarke, Kelly Saggs, Erin Vaughan and Lisa Sharred.

The match takes place at Sutton Coldfield Town FC and Leeds go into the match as favourites against a Villa side which will be looking to continue its progression this season.
