England Head Coach Hope Powell has named a strong 22-player squad for the upcoming Cyprus Cup from March 5-12.
The Cyprus Cup, a tournament which is joint-hosted by England alongside Scotland and Holland, will give Hope and her squad their first real competitive action this year. England continue to build their preparations towards their third major tournament in succession, the European Championships in Finland this August, and will begin their tournament with a match against South Africa on 5 March.
Leeds Carnegie winger Jess Clarke has received her first call-up to the senior squad following good performances in the Under-20 World Cup and scoring twice for the Under-23s recently against Norway. Bristol Academy captain Corinne Yorston keeps her place and Steph Houghton has completed her return to the fold.
England were involved in a training camp in La Manga in January, followed by a second camp and closed door practice matches against Finland in Cyprus earlier this month.
The Finals kick off in Helsinki on 23rd August this year. England have been drawn into Group C with Sweden, Russia and Italy.
