Honours were even as the two unbeaten sides in the Scottish Women's Premier League, Spartans and Celtic, battled out a 3-3 draw in their vital clash.
The result allowed Glasgow City to close the gap on leaders Celtic to three points, with Spartans a further two adrift, by scoring nine without reply against Aberdeen. Suzanne Lappin spearheaded the win for the reigning Champions by bagging a hat-trick, Emma Fernon and Leanne Ross each weighed in with doubles and there was a goal apiece from Megan Sneddon and Ruesha Littlejohn.
Forfar Farmington meanwhile produced arguably the result of the day, a 2-1 success away to fourth placed Hibernian, which takes them into fifth.
Dundee Utd SC are back up into the top six following their 3-2 victory over Hamilton Academicals.
The two teams at the foot of the table met each other and each picked up an important point as Raith Rovers and Boroughmuir Thistle finished level at 1-1.
