![]() Wales fielded a squad depleted by illness and injury, with both Nia Jones and Yasmin Leung looking doubtful to take any part in the game due to injuries sustained in the previous match against Azerbaijan. Nevertheless the team competed well to hold on to a goalless scoreline until fifteen minutes from time, when Portugal took the lead with a goal from substitute Ariana Ruela. Wales equalised minutes later with a goal from Cori Williams, making her debut in this tournament, which came from a free kick taken by Sharla Passiarello. It looked as though Wales would finish up with a point but disaster struck in injury time after Portugal won a corner, from which Bruna Morais forced home the winning goal for the host side. Wales: Sophie Dando, Alicia Powe, Mikaela Welford (sub Cori Williams 56mins), Jasmin Dutton, Annie Pritchard, Rachel Cullen, Sophie Ingle, Ellie Davies, Emma Plewa, Emily Brown (sub Lyndsey Davies 71mins), Sharla Passiarello. Subs not used: Nia Jones, Sara Hilton, Yvette Churchill, Yasmin Leung.
