Andy takes charge at Dudley - 28 May 2009 - Women's Football NewsDudley United are pleased to announce that Andy Mulligan will be their new manager for next season.
 
Andy, a UEFA B qualified Coach who previously managed Aston Villa in the Premier League, has spent seven successful years coaching top level players of the game who have gone on to be involved in the England set up. His greatest achievement is his Sports Coaching business that works in over 70 schools across the country (www.sportsplusscheme.co.uk).
 
Dudley, of the West Midlands League, are an ambitious club that is ready move up the leagues, they have their own ground and a strong base for Andy and his coaching team to build on. The club feels that Andy's club development plan for the future is exciting and achievable and they are so pleased to be making such a high profile appointment.
 
Andy Mulligan said: "I'm very excited to be back involved in ladies football. I enjoyed my time at Aston Villa and my season out that was spent tutoring coaching courses and watching games around the Midlands.
 
"I feel Dudley have the set up and backing to move up the leagues and compete at a much higher level in the game. They have an ambition that is greater than teams two or three leagues above them, that is a major asset for me as a manager to know the set up is ready for success on and off the pitch.
 
"Dudley have some very good players at the club, but will need additional quality to gain promotion next season."
 
Dudley will start pre-season training on Tuesday 2nd June (7.30pm-9pm) at the Handrahan Stadium (DY6 0AX). Seniors Open Day is from 12pm-2pm on Sunday 7th June also at the Handrahan Stadium. Players can come down to the ground and talk to the manager and coaching team about next season and their future plans for the club.
