Newcastle United players Sarah Bennett and Rachel Coleman took a trip back down memory lane when they paid a visit to Forest Hall Juniors Girls FC when they were invited as guests of honour at their recent presentation evening.
Sarah and Rachel started their football careers at the junior club before joining Newcastle United.. The players were asked to present awards to the senior ladies team as well as the Under-10s, 12s and 14s girls squads.
Some of the Forest Hall Juniors renewed old acquaintances with the Toon players, as they had been the lucky mascots in a 3-0 win over Tranmere Rovers back in January, and the girls are looking forward to once again leading the players out as special guests at one of the home fixtures next season.
Michele Hinds, Girls section Secretary who was responsible for inviting the Newcastle players, was thrilled: "We are delighted to have these two former Forest Hall players here with us at our presentation evening. As we try to develop the girls section of the club, this is a perfect opportunity to show the girls what they can achieve with hard work and determination. The club is looking to build a strong relation with Newcastle United WFC. Both Sarah and Rachel were true ambassadors for their club and fantastic throughout the evening with all the players."
