![]() Barnsley won the open age competition, beating Hull-based AFC Preston 'A' on penalties in the final to bring the day to a close after some seven hours of football. Steels enjoyed success in their own tournament as their 'A' side were the Under-16 winners over Linby in the other final which went to penalties. Several clubs entered teams at more than one age level and some of those had more than one team at a particular age level, but only Batley Juniors were represented in more than one Final as the honours were spread around. The other finals were as follows: Under-11s: winners Handsworth 'B', runners-up Crosspool Under-12s: winners Yorkshire Amateur, runners-up Lepton Highlanders Under-13s: winners Doncaster Parklands, runners-up Batley Juniors Under-14s: winners Batley Juniors 'A', runners-up Sheffield Rangers Overall, it was another successful event for the Steels, so rewarding the hard work put into organising the day with the weather, a few brief and light showers apart, staying dry.
