![]() Manager Adam Lakeland has strengthened his squad ahead of the new season with the captures of Katy Ward from Birmingham, Danielle Sheen from Liverpool and Lauren Walker from Arsenal. Hailing the new additions, Adam said: "Kate brings a lot of Premier League experience, having also played for Wolves, Aston Villa and Bristol Academy. She is an attacking player, who can operate on either flank or through the middle. She is very direct, has good pace and good delivery with both feet. "Danielle is a young striker who scored a few goals for Liverpool last season, including the winner against us in the 1-0 home defeat. She's very quick, is hard working and has got a good attitude. "Lauren was involved with Arsenal's reserves last year and will have benefited from training with their senior side. She's an ambitious girl who can play anywhere down the left hand side, either at left back or left midfield." With a couple of other players also on trial, further additions are expected to be announced in the near future. "We are having a look at one or two more and we'll see how they get on over the next couple of weeks," added Adam. "We're always on the lookout. We wanted to bring in players who would strengthen the starting eleven and also provide strength in depth, which is something we were missing last season, particularly towards the end of the campaign." Rovers have also been boosted by the return to the squad of former Everton duo Amy Kane and Danielle Hill, who have both put pen-to-paper on new contracts with the club. Danielle has been out of action for almost a year after having two operations on her knee, whilst Amy has recently returned from Serbia, where she led the Great Britain women's team to a bronze medal at the World University Games. Adam said: "It's like having two new signings. Amy is probably ahead of schedule, because she has already had six games under her belt in Belgade, whilst we hope to have Danielle back in full training by the end of August. Their return will provide a massive boost to everyone at the club."
