England require a point from their final group game to guarantee themselves a place in the semi finals of the UEFA Under-19 Championship after their match against Norway finished goalless. Following on from their victory over Sweden, England could not quite recapture that form and it took a fine save from Rebecca Spencer to prevent them going behind in the opening minute. Norway continued to enjoy the better of the opening exchanges but England eventually settled and Chelsea Weston almost put them ahead just before the break with a repeat of her spectacular goal from the previous game but this time her shot was turned over the bar by Ingrid Thorbjornsen. Gilly Flaherty headed just wide from the resulting corner. However the game was marred on the hour mark as Norwegian captain June Tarnes was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg. England grew stronger from this point and almost snatched victory in the dying minutes but Jordan Nobbs' effort was just over. England finish up their group matches on Sunday when they take on Iceland. England under-19: Rebecca Spencer, Chelsea Weston, Gilly Flaherty, Remi Allen, Lucy Bronze, Kerys Harrop, Isobel Christiansen (sub Jessica Holbrook 68mins), Jordan Nobbs, Toni Duggan, Michelle Hinnigan, Jade Moore. Subs not used: Ashley Baker, Abbie Prosser, Laura Coombs, Gemma Bonner, Demi Stokes, Lauren Bruton.
