![]() The Danish side will be the hosts for the Group A3 first round of qualifying, which is one of seven mini tournaments whose winners will progress to join the 25 other entrants, including holders FCR 2001 Duisburg, in the knockout phase of the competition. The Final will be played two days before the men's UEFA Champions League final in Madrid on Thursday 20 May 2010. This is a tough draw for the Welsh Champions who are participating in their seventh successive UEFA campaign. Brondby are the top seeds for the group and have very good pedigree in the tournament, having reached the last four of the UEFA Women's Cup in 2003-04 and 2006-07, when they were beaten by Arsenal. Cardiff have faced the Portugal champions SU 1 Dezembro before; in 2005 Dezembro ran out 3-0 winners, but not much is known about the Maltese champions Birkirkara FC, however this is their second appearance in the tournament. Cardiff take a strong squad to Copenhagen including seven Welsh international players, as well as the youngest player in the squad - 16-year-old Lisa Bird who this season moves up into senior football via the club's successful junior development programme. Cardiff captain Charlotte Miller said: "We accept that this is a tough test we have been given, both Brondby and Dezembro are clubs with a fine history in the competition. Brondby are probably one of the best teams to have played at this level but we want to test ourselves against this quality of opponent."
