![]() Inverness got off to a great start by taking a tenth minute lead through Natalie Bodiam but Glasgow were ahead by the interval thanks to Leanne Ross and Megan Sneddon. After the break, Rachel Corsie fired home before Ross scored her second goal. Suzanne Lappin added the fifth moments after coming on as a substitute and Ruesha Littlejohn further extended the lead from the penalty spot. Lappin completed her double with a trademark header and the tally was completed by captain Laura Montgomery. City will lead the opening day table with Hamilton Academicals in second place after they won 7-1 at FC Kilmarnock while Hibernian defeated Forfar Farmington 3-1. Rangers started well in their first game following promotion, beating Dundee Utd SC 2-0, and last season's runners-up Spartans began with a narrow 1-0 victory against Boroughmuir Thistle. Aberdeen meanwhile produced a fine result by holding Celtic to a 1-1 draw.
