The close season has seen many changes for Bristol Academy. With the new season brings a wave of optimism with a new first team manager, a new club chairman and the prospect of the club moving to a brand new stadium at Filton College for the 2010-11 season. Mark Sampson, Head Coach of Female Football at Filton College, has taken tempory charge of the club assisted by First Team Coaches Daniel Tanhai and Nick Shipway and Strength and Conditioning Coach Graham Williams. The club has also strengthened last season's squad with the addition of Katie Middleton from Plymouth Argyle, Amanda Blakely from Team Bath and Jaz Matthews, a product of Cornwall's CoE programme. First Team Manager Mark Sampson, when asked on the squad and new season, commented: "We have been pleased with the way the players have worked during pre-season. We have gelled as a group and developed a strong winning mentality, physically I believe we are in great condition and that is a credit to my staff and the work ethic of the players. "We have been working on developing a new way of playing which will take time but the players are taking the information we are giving them on board and I now feel we are starting to enjoy our football and express ourselves on the pitch. With a young squad, our ability to consistently perform to our standards will be key to our success this season and I am confident the players will have the bravery and ability to do that. We are a hungry, young group who are determined to be successful for our club."
